There will be fun for all the family to enjoy taking place in Uphill over the weekend of 24 and 25 June 2017
The fun starts with the annual school and village fete on the Primary School Grounds on the Saturday between 12.00 and 4pm and to be opened by Councillor John Crockford-Hawley. All the usual fun and activities will be there including the ever popular face painting, bouncy castles (including a terror slide) to arena displays including birds of prey, vintage cars, buses and emergency vehicles. Add to this a great variety of games, stalls and refreshments plus a bar and BBQ. What more could you want.
Sunday 25 June sees the annual village duck race along Uphill Great Rhyne starting from the Old Church Road Bridge at 11.00am. Again held in aid of Children’s Hospice Southwest and now with 1,000 duck taking part in the race hopes are high for raising a record sum for this worthwhile charity as well as providing great fun to watch. Ducks can be sponsored at just £1 each on the day, at the fete and at other village events or by contacting info@uphillvillagesociety.org.uk
On Sunday afternoon from 12.30pm there is at the opportunity for all the family to join together on Uphill Beach adjacent to Weston Bay Yacht Club Clubhouse for a great sandcastle build. Bring a BBQ or picnic and enjoy the hospitality of the Yacht Club whilst working on your ‘Grand Design”.
