All is set for the Great Uphill Scarecrow Festival organised by the Uphill Village Society and taking place over the weekend of22nd and 23rd September 2018 – its 11th year!.
The event remains a highlight of the village calendar and residents are sure to be busy building their scarecrow for display based this year on the theme of “Horrible Histories”. A chance to display a favourite character from history, good or bad, fiction or true – the choice is yours.
The weekend will start with the judging of the School entries on the Friday afternoon and which will then be displayed within the school garden in front of the old school house. The Town Mayor will be invited to tour the village over the weekend and afternoon cream tea can be taken on Sunday afternoon at St. Nicholas Church with refreshments being served all day on the Saturday at the Methodist Church.
SIX MACHINE a six-piece function band delivering a high-energy, feel-good live music experience comes to Uphill for the annual Scarecrow Family Night event.
