Planning applications

Date Published: 1st January 2023

Although the village society has no statutory powers in relation to local planning issues it does consider carefully  any applications affecting the village and, if appropriate submit representations to the local authority.

In considering any application the society looks at the effect of the proposed development with the aim of promoting high standards of planning and architecture and to secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic, environmental or public interest in the village.

Many applications submitted fall outside the above remit as they do not adversely affect the character of the village as a whole but may be of concern to immediate neighbours of the proposed development. In such cases no submissions, from the Village Society would be made.

The society is notified each month of any applications submitted in relation to the village and details of these will be posted as a news item on this website to enable interested parties to make their own enquiries of the local authority.
