 The Grange in Uphill Road South, western block (Macready House)  only is a grade 2 listed building.

Late C18 with Edwardian alterations. Rendered with ashlar dressings. Double mansard slate roof. Garden (S) elevation: 2½ storeys, 3 windows, first floor glazing bar sashes, later French windows on ground floor. Door under pediment. Three round headed dormers above cornice, raised verges. Bell-cote between stacks on W gable. To W, adjoining wing has one storey and basement, tripartite window and integral former coach house below. Entrance (N) elevation: 2½ storeys and basement. As garden elevation, but altered fenestration and decorative Edwardian porch. Interior: hall with enriched columns, cornices, all Edwardian neo-Classical. Some original fireplaces and plasterwork in rooms towards garden.

The property has recently been acquired by a development compnay who hdld an information session at the Uphill Village Hall recently. To assist those who were unable to attend that meeting the Village society has request that the information on display be placed on the company's website for reference and can now be viewed at -  www.uphillgrange.co.uk. 

The formal planing application has yet to be lodged and may conation variations to the information previously supplied.

The Village Society will seek to hold further information sessions should this be thought necessary once the full planning applicaion has been received.
